# Find flights

> Search award flight availability by route and date across supported loyalty programs, and understand live versus cached result behavior.

Use flight search when you know the route and date you want to check.

## Search fields

Start with:

* origin airport
* destination airport
* travel date

Use real airport codes when you know them, such as `DEL`, `BOM`, `BLR`, `SIN`, `LHR`, or `SFO`.

<Tip>
  Start with the airport you actually want. Add nearby airports only if you would genuinely use them.
</Tip>

## What PointsCasa searches

PointsCasa checks supported loyalty programs for award availability.

Results can include:

* miles required
* taxes and fees
* cabin
* airline and flight numbers
* stops and layovers
* departure and arrival times
* booking links
* whether the result is live or cached

## Freshness

Results can be `live` or `cached`.

<Info>
  Live results are best when you may act now. Cached results are useful leads, but should be verified before you transfer points or book.
</Info>

Read more in [live vs cached results](/help/live-vs-cached-results).

## How to search better

Start narrow, then widen.

1. Search the exact route and date.
2. Try nearby dates.
3. Try nearby airports only if you would actually use them.
4. Open promising results instead of over-scanning the table.

## If nothing shows up

No result does not always mean no award exists.

It can mean:

* the route is not supported yet
* no seats are available on that date
* availability changed
* a source failed temporarily
* another partner program may have the seat

Try nearby dates or another supported program, then verify directly on the airline site.
