# Live vs cached results

> Understand live, exact cached, nearby cached, and stale award search results, and when to verify availability with the airline before transferring.

PointsCasa may show live or cached availability depending on the search and account state.

This is normal for award travel products. Live checks are expensive and award inventory changes often, so cached results help with discovery.

## Result types

## What to do with cached results

Use cached results as leads.

If a cached result looks good:

1. Open the result.
2. Check the booking page.
3. Open the airline or loyalty site.
4. Confirm the same flight, cabin, miles, and taxes.
5. Transfer only after confirmation.

## Credits on older accounts

Some early or waitlist accounts may show search credits.

You do not choose when to spend a credit. If your account uses credits, PointsCasa applies them automatically when a search needs them.

For most users, the practical question is simpler: is this result fresh enough to act on, or should you verify it directly before moving points?

## When to upgrade

If you are casually exploring dates, cached results can be enough to find useful leads.
